The sea and railway transport is the most environmentfriendly form of delivering containers to or from Poland. This is what the Polzug Intermodal specializes in. It offers regular train connections between seaports of Hamburg, Bremerhaven, Gdynia, Gdansk, Rotterdam, Antwerp and the five most important economic regions in Poland. The needs of each customer are carefully investigated and analysed. Based on that, an intermodal solution is developed as a tailored product in a competitive price. It is possible to place an order via EDI interfaces. Polzug Intermodal picks up containers in a seaport and reloads them onto the block trains that run upcountry. In most cases such trains go to the HUB terminal in Poznan first. Then, the containers are reloaded again and directed to other terminals according to the goods’ destination. Once reaching the end-terminal, the containers are delivered by the vehicle transport directly to the recipients. Customers may also choose containers to be delivered by one rail-car or group of rail- cars directly to the customer’s side-track. Additionally, the service portfolio offers possibility to deliver containers further to the area of Commonwealth of Independent States. In Poland, Polzug uses three own terminals and two of its partners where it renders depot services and numerous supporting services (see further below) such as: custom clearance, container cleaning, handling transport of dangerous goods and container repair, the latter provided in cooperation with HCCR, the HHLA Group member. Polzug Intermodal rents and sells spaces fit for logistics purposes in its terminals in Poznan and Dabrowa Gornicza.
